Within the space of a single frame, a cinematographer creates windows into the lives of the characters.

My name is Fendi Yasuda, and I'm a 27 year old filmmaker/photographer based in Singapore. I recently graduated with a BFA in Media Art in the school of Arts, Design and Media in Nanyang Technological University.

My visual storytelling journey started when I was gifted my first film camera at the age of thirteen. Starting out with shooting portraits in the streets, I fell in love with the process of creating emotionally powerful visuals of the everyday man from the perspective of a quiet observer.

My personal philosophy as a cinematographer is that the characters are pivotal vehicles for the story. I value creating space for the actor’s performance and strive to frame the camera to augment that. To me, the cinematography should never distract the audience from the story or the characters, only support their emotion and performance.
